Labor Standards Act applies to all people working in Japan, even for foreigners.
Is your working situation OK?
Please check Labor Standards Act.
1.Working hour:
Limit of working hour is 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
2.Rest:
More than 45 minutes, if working hour is more than 6 hours.
More than 60 minutes, if working hour is more than 8 hours.
3.Holiday:
At least 1 day in a week.
At least 4 days in 4 weeks.
4.Extra wages:
Over time work → plus 25%～
Rest day work → plus 35%～
Midnight work(10pm-5am)→ plus 25%
※Over time & Midnight work must be plus 50%～(over time 25%～＋midnight 25%)
5.Paid leave:
If you work more than 80% for 6 months after joining the company, the company must give 10 days paid leave.
6.Lay off:
When the company lay off employees, must notice employees 30 days before.
If notice is less than 30 days, the company must pay insufficient amount for 30 days(For example, If the notice is 20 days before, the company must pay 10 days wagers.)
※Labor Standards Act does not apply to people who work in the firm of agriculture, fisheries, sericulture, livestock.
