Hello everyone.
How are you?

If you want to live in Japan permanently, it's better to get permanent residency.
To get permanent residency, one of the requirements will change.
Please check the following.

The applicant must be residing in Japan with the longest period of stay stipulated in Appendix 2 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act for their current status of residence.
Previously, the "3-year" period of stay was considered as the "maximum period of stay" in the "Guidelines on Permanent Residency Permits".
However, from April 1, 2027, the requirement will be that the applicant reside in Japan, with a maximum period of stay for each status of residence.
Although in the case of an application for permanent residency from a person who has a period of stay of "3 years" as of March 31, 2027, if the decision is made within the said period of stay, the application will be treated as if the person is "residing with the longest period of stay", only for the first application.

在留申請（ざいりゅうしんせい）には、在留資格（ざいりゅうしかく）によって、決（き）められた申請書（しんせいしょ）・資料（しりょう）をだす必要（ひつよう）があります。在留資格（ざいりゅうしかく）ごとのチェックシートなどをみて、必要（ひつよう）な書類（しょるい）を確認（かくにん）してください。
審査（しんさ）の結果（けっか）がでるまでの時間（じかん）を短（みじか）くすることにつながります！
