The History Challenge Quiz was about more than winning trophies and prizes. It provided students with opportunities to develop confidence, practise teamwork, strengthen recall and critical-thinking skills, and learn to respond under pressure.
It also encouraged teachers and students to engage more deeply with Jamaican history and demonstrated how libraries can complement classroom instruction through creative educational programmes.
By celebrating young historians and rewarding academic effort, the competition helped foster a culture of curiosity, lifelong learning, and appreciation for Jamaicaโs national heritage.
