Did you know that under Section 21 (1) of the *CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT* ("The Act") a consumer is legally entitled to a *written warranty* on any goods purchased (be it new or used? It also extends to any services offered for the repair of any appliances, equipment, furniture or other goods.

Did you know that under Sec 21 (2) of the ACT you are entitled to get a *MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY* & "NOT A STORE WARRANTY " ? In other words if you buy a TV or Fridge or Stove or Blender....if the manufacturer gives the dealer you bought the goods from say a 1yr Warranty (as stated in the booklet then that dealer must also give you the *same 1 yr warranty and not less* which is often times the case in Jamaica....so ask them to show you the WARRANTY BOOKLET.

In essence a WARRANTY is a legal promise by a seller of goods or services giving an assurance that if anything goes wrong with the goods or services within a certain time span after the purchase then they will address the matter.

Don't leave the provider (store) until you get that warranty *IN WRITING SETTING OUT THE TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE WARRANTY*...see that it is signed..

If you did not get a warranty or they refuse to give you a warranty then dont worry....Sec 21 (4) protects you by IMPLYING WARRANTIES for you...eg, that the goods *must be fit for the purpose (s) for which it was intended for* as well as that the goods *must be of merchantable quality*

SHOP WISELY....remember to GET YOUR WARRANTY....MEK SURE YOUR RECEIPT SPECIFY THE WARRANTY (IES).

Tek Care...shop smartly.👍🏼
