The Express Entry Program is one of the main pathways for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada, and it aims to attract individuals who have the skills and experience needed to contribute to the Canadian economy. It covers three main economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry Profile: Candidates interested in immigrating to Canada through the Express Entry Program must first create an online profile. This profile includes information about their skills, work experience, education, language ability, and other relevant details.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS): The Express Entry system uses a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System to assess and rank candidates based on various factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other adaptability factors. Points are awarded for each factor, and candidates are given a total score.
Express Entry Draws: Periodically, the Canadian government conducts Express Entry draws where they invite candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence. The minimum CRS score required for an invitation can vary with each draw, depending on the number of candidates in the pool and the immigration goals of the Canadian government.
Invitation to Apply (ITA): Candidates who receive an invitation to apply have the opportunity to submit a formal application for permanent residence within a specified timeframe. It is important to note that receiving an ITA does not guarantee approval; candidates must still meet the eligibility and admissibility requirements.
Permanent Residence Application: Once invited to apply, candidates must submit a complete application for permanent residence, including supporting documents, within the given timeframe. Applications are then processed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
