Carol DaCosta, a Kingston native, was called to the Bar in 1991 and began her law career as Clerk of Courts, and eventually as Public Prosecutor, for the then Ministry of National Security. DaCosta then joined the ranks of the distinguished law firm of Bartholomew and Company before leaving to establish her own practice which then evolved into the partnership of DaCosta, Archer & Cummings, in whic

h she was a senior partner. DaCosta was offered a position at the bench, which she accepted, becoming Resident Magistrate for a number of parishes including St. Mary and St. Ann, presiding over cases ranging from Child Maintenance and Traffic to R**e and Drug Offences. After almost a decade of serving the people of Jamaica Mrs. DaCosta took a personal Sabbatical and returned in 2012 to restore her practice with all of her experience and skill along with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of duty.
