Allow me to re-introduce myself

1. My name is MAGDA
2. I’m a mum to a little cheeky boy Leo and a wife to my amazing man David (don’t take me wrong - he does my head in from time to time!)
3. I have both analytical and creative mind. I love a checklist and a dream board (kind of opposite?)
4. I love to learn. I read, watched and finished hundreds of courses. I can’t relax doing nothing.
5. I’m an extroverted introvert. I enjoy social interactions, but I’m never the first one to stand up for public speaking.
6. I am stubborn (it’s a good quality to have sometimes… or am I kidding myself on …🤔?)
7. I’m a dreamer and I am always planning how to turn those dreams into reality. I fell in love with Sicily 7 years ago and since then it has been my goal to live there full time (nearly there!)
8. For over 10 years I’ve been working in a corporate world

Did you know that the living la dolce vita in Sicily comes at a fraction of the cost compared to other European destinations 🇮🇹💰? For example, a delicious pizza in a local pizzeria can cost as little as €5 (anyone visiting Palermo, let me know, I can give you directions for the best pizza in town!) a beer in a bar can be as low as €2.50 and an Aperol in a city centre cafe starts at only €3!

In terms of utility bills, the average monthly cost for electricity, gas, and water for a small apartment is around €100-€150. This is much lower than the average cost in other European cities.

Living in Sicily not only offers a lower cost of living, but also a high quality of life with beautiful beaches, stunning architecture, and amazing food. Have you been to Sicily? Did you find it affordable?

. It’s Magda here from sicily_made_easy. A little bit about me - I’m a Polish expat living in Scotland ☔️ who fell in love with Sicily ☀️about 7 years ago. Since then, together with my boys, we’re coming back to Sicily like bumerangs and spend a lot of our time there.

Thinking back to the pandemic - 2020 hasn’t been too bad to us. We managed to spend 3 months in Sicily (and another 2 the following summer!), meet lots of people from around the world who had a similar thought- if we need to be stuck in one place, we might just do it on a beautiful island. During our time there we helped to create a vibrant community of expats in the Sicilian capital city Palermo, bought an apartment in Sicily and learnt some Italian in the mean time.

Sicily is beautiful and exciting, but living in a country where things work, I found it hard to get used to the Italian way of doing everything. This is why I created sicily_made_easy - to help others navigate their journey of buying a property in Italy 🇮🇹 … and other hopefully useful info for people who dream about spending at least some of their lives in this beautiful country
