🇺🇸 Today, the US celebrates the Thanksgiving holiday and we at SLM are happy to join them in this festivity.

This year posed a great challenge to the entire world and forced many of us to change our lives and reconsider our priorities. In a way, it reminded us what we should truly be thankful for and perhaps even take for granted.

🇮🇹 Lost in translation in Italian legal matters.

⚠️ Some English legal terms are often translated to Italian terms that have different meanings and legal consequences.

Let's look at the relatively simple word “deposit”.

It is used in Italian property transactions to refer to the money a buyer pays to secure the purchase. In
Italian it is often translated as “caparra” or “acconto”. Less commonly with “deposito”.

The use of the correct Italian term is extremely important, especially if one of the parties, after the deposit payment, is in breach of contract. Here are some implications based on
how “deposit” is translated:

1️⃣ “Caparra”: If one party is in breach of contract, the other party can claim compensation in an amount equal to the deposit, without proof actual loss.

2️⃣ “Acconto”: The deposit is an advance of the purchase price. Compensation claims shall be based on proof of the losses suffered and connection to the breach of contract.

3️⃣ “Deposito": In many cases used improperly, as a “false friend”.

NUOVI STRUMENTI A SUPPORTO DELL'INTERNAZIONALIZZAZIONE DELLE IMPRESE DELLA REGIONE PUGLIA

Sarà pubblicato a breve il nuovo bando "Titolo IV" a supporto dell'Internazionalizzazione delle PMI pugliesi.

La misura prevede aiuti economici "a sportello", con un investimento minimo di € 50.000, destinati a Consorzi e reti di imprese regionali nei seguenti settori di attività:

- MANIFATTURA
- COSTRUZIONI
- ALLOGGIO E RISTORAZIONE
- COMUNICAZIONE E INFORMAZIONE

Le spese ammissibili riguardano:

- Spese per servizi di consulenza specialistica per la promozione internazionale
- Costi per la figura dell’Export manager
- Spese per servizi di consulenza relativi a studi ed analisi di fattibilità costituzione e gestione investimenti all’estero
- Spese per la partecipazione a fiere internazionali ( 1 sola fiera)
- Spese per l’organizzazione e realizzazione di mostre promozionali

La domanda potrà essere inoltrata attraverso Cofidi o istituti di credito, e prevede un contributo sugli interessi sino al 50%.
