🕯️13th July – Kashmir Martyrs’ Day🕯️

On this solemn day, we honor the 22 courageous souls who were martyred on 13th July 1931 outside Central Jail Srinagar—men who stood up against the autocratic Dogra regime, demanding justice, civil liberties, and the right to speak for their people.

Their martyrdom was not only a turning point in Kashmir’s political consciousness but also a powerful assertion of fundamental rights—the right to fair trial, freedom of speech, and public participation, all of which are now enshrined in modern democratic constitutions.

As a legal practitioner, I view 13th July as more than just a historical event. It is a legal landmark that reminds us of the long, painful journey toward rule of law and constitutional justice in Jammu & Kashmir. These martyrs died without ever seeing a legal system that protected their rights—but their blood laid the foundation for demanding it.

On behalf of JKUM, I, Adv. Muneeb Ansari, District President Srinagar, pay heartfelt tribute to these sons of the soil. Their sacrifice demands not just remembrance, but our continued struggle to uphold justice, constitutional rights, and democratic accountability in Kashmir.

Today on 17/07/2024. *JAMMU AND KASHMIR UNITED MOVEMENT*
District President Srinagar Adv Muneeb Ansari & Vice President Srinagar Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan visited Old Bus stand Batamaloo wherein Grade 2nd work was done by city roads Srinagar upon the request of JKUM.
District President Srinagar JKUM Adv Muneeb Ansari appealed the LG lead administration to gear up the macdamization work as soon as possible on the same so that the street vendors earning there lively hood and may not face difficulties in comming winter.

*Team JKUM Srinagar organised the Sabeel on 8th Muharram at Lal Chowk Srinagar & on 10th March at zadibal Srinagar in which water & Juices were distributed to facilitate the Shia Mourners on 8th & 10th Mohrram to commemorate the Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.s) & his family.*

Adv Muneeb Ansari District President Srinagar JKUM in his statement said Muharram has historical importance for both Sunni and Shia Muslims. It commemorates significant events, including the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s) (the grandson of Prophet Muhammad) (PBUH) in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE. This battle holds immense religious and political significance in Islamic history.Muharram commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s) Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) grandson, and his companions at the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD. This battle symbolizes the fight for justice against oppression. Imam Hussain's (a.s) refusal to submit to the tyrannical ruler Yazid that ultimately led to his sacrifice.

*Ansari* further in his statement said that we muslims are divided into various sects by some politicians to weaken our strength for their own political gains we as muslims should follow the teaching of Islam and it's the time ryt time to fight against those forces who want to devide us to rule upon us as yazid.

*JK United Movement Team Srinagar visits Bohri Kadal,srinagar expresses solidarity with fire affected, hails Admin, police role*

*Says it’s time for Admin, business class, youth, Masjid committee to put a collective effort to reconstruct lost property*

Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNO): JKUM Team Srinagar visited the Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar to express solidarity with the fire affected families. The team included Senior Leader JKUM Sajad Hussain Shah, District President Srinagar Muneeb Ansari, Central Secretary Owais Nabi, Central Youth Secretary Nasrullah Qureshi, Chief Spokesperson Mohd Ejaz & other members including Faheem Reshi with the management of the historic Bazar Masjid that was turned into ashes in the devastating blaze. JKUM hailed the administration and police role and called for collective efforts of administration, business class and youth for reconstruction of the gutted houses, shopping complex and the masjid.

Talking to reporters as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mohd Ejaz said it was very unfortunate to see that huge destruction had taken place due to the devastating blaze on Monday.

“It is shocking and sad to see the historic Bazar Masjid turning into heaps of rubble due to the blaze. I spoke to locals of the area and came to know that a shopping complex and dozens of houses were gutted in the incident,” Ejaz said.

He said that locals told him that police played a big role and helped firemen to douse the flames. “Locals also told me that fire tenders reached the spot late but that’s an administrative matter. I believe administration, masjid managements, business class, youth and locals need to come forward for a collective effort so that the lost property is again reconstructed in a nice manner,” JKUM said and expressed solidarity with the affected families and shopkeepers.

Pertinent to mention is that Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohiduin Bhat and SSP Srinagar Ashish Mishra were present at Bohri Kadal area till late night—(KNO)
