2014 Acid Attack On Law Student: Court Sentences Convicts To Life Imprisonment

Srinagar, Aug 23 (GNS): Six days after holding two persons guilty in "horrific" case of throwing acid on a 20-year-old law student at Nowshera Srinagar on 11 December 2014, a court here on Tuesday Sentenced them to life imprisonment. The Principal District and Sessions Court Srinagar Jawad Ahmed announced the verdict in jam-packed Court, according to GNS correspondent.

KU To Conduct Offline Exams, Datesheets To Be Issued Soon
Kashmir University on Friday announced that all pending exams of the varsity will be held in “offline” mode and the date sheets will be issued soon.
Controller of Examinations, KU, Prof Irshad A Nawchoo said that all pending and recently-postponed examinations shall be held in “offline” (pen-paper) mode. “No examination shall be held in online mode.”
The University is already in the process of redrafting and issuing datesheets for various pending examinations, which shall commence soon after the pandemic situation eases, he said.
“The University is closely watching the situation and shall possibly issue all datesheets at the earliest to ensure timely declaration of results/ completion of degrees,” he said
“Students are advised to ready themselves for offline examinations in accordance with the necessary guidelines, policies in vogue,” he said, adding, “Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) shall be strictly adhered to during the conduct of said examinations.”

With deep sorrow and pain I'm sharing that
that Former Head & Dean Faculty of Law, University of Kashmir, Prof. G Q Mir Sahab passed away after a brief illness just now at his home Tajdar Colony, Zakura Crossing. He left us today to meet his creator. Prof. G Q Mir was ill for quite some time. A personal loss for me and my family. May Allah grant him Jannah and give courage to his family. Request everyone to pray for the departed soul!
Mir uncle, we miss you! He was Father of Adv Faisal Mir Sb.
