Minority Cells in Political Parties, An Insult to Secularism:

India is a secular democracy, where the Constitution guarantees equality before law and equal opportunity for every citizen irrespective of religion, caste, or community. In such a nation, political parties that claim to uphold secular values should embody this principle in both spirit and practice.
The Indian National Congress has historically projected itself as a secular party. However, the formation of a Minority Cell within the party structure raises a serious question: does this not contradict the very idea of secularism?
A Minority Cell may appear to provide a platform for Muslims and other communities, but in reality it implies segregation. By creating a separate wing, the party indirectly conveys that minorities are not part of the mainstream decision-making process and need a separate space to be heard. This is not inclusion—it is isolation.

Why Minority Cells are Problematic?

Contradiction to equality – If all members are truly treated equally, there should be no need for a separate body based on religion or identity.

Hidden discrimination: – Such cells signal that minorities require “special representation” instead of being naturally integrated into leadership and organizational roles.

Vote bank politics :– It reduces minorities, especially Muslims who have long supported the Congress, to mere electoral numbers rather than equal partners in shaping the party’s vision.

Betrayal of secularism: – True secularism means every member, regardless of faith, has the same opportunity to participate and rise within the party on the basis of merit and capability.

Instead of building compartments within the party, the Congress should strive to mainstream every section of society. Muslims, like all other citizens, do not need “cells” or “special wings” to protect their rights within a secular political framework. What they need is fair opportunity, genuine representation, and equal respect.
In conclusion, the existence of a Minority Cell is not a symbol of empowerment but a subtle form of insult to the very community it claims to represent. If Congress truly wishes to uphold the values of secularism and democracy, it must remove such divisions and work towards a party structure where every Indian, irrespective of religion, stands equal.

When the blind men were asked to tell about the shape of an elephant, they explained as per their own feelings which was not the real picture. We became the blind men. We are so arrogant that we are not ready to accept the reality which is beyond our understanding.
With our limited experience, we should not be proud of our money and muscle as we have seen in the past that today's majority is tomorrow's minority. So, live and let live.

With all mankind, a person is equally responsible towards the animals and plants.
Lines like continent, country,state,district, village etc. has been drawn for Administration and not for creating divisions among us. For our personal gain,we forget the value of humanity and try to divide people in the name of Clan,religion etc. We forget that nobody of us created any religion, clan etc.,we are just the member of that as we are born in such family which belongs to that clan or religion which could have been vice versa.
