The 1st Kautilya Society, HNLU Essay Competition 2021: RESULT

Kautilya Society, HNLU is pleased to announce the results of the 1st Kautilya Society, HNLU Essay Competition 2021, which was held under the theme "Governance and Policy Challenges in Post-Covid Era".

We would like to thank all the participants for their entries. We would also like to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Mr Alok Prasanna in the final evaluation process of the submissions.

We wish our best to all the participants for their future endeavours and look forward to everyone's participation in future events of the Society!

Kautilya Society, HNLU is pleased to organise the 1st Kautilya Society, HNLU Essay Competition 2021 on the theme "Governance and Policy Challenges in a Post-Covid Era". Entries are invited from interested students on the aforementioned theme latest by 27 September 2021, 23:59 PM (IST).

The Competition seeks to encourage research in the intertwined areas of law and public policy, and accordingly, contemporary and cutting-edge areas have been chosen. A few indicative sub-themes are provided in the brochure available on the website.

The Competition is open to all students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in any recognised university in India.

Kautilya Society, HNLU, in collaboration with the Centre for Civil Society (CCS), organised its inaugural Talks@KSoc session on “Introduction to Public Policy” with Mr Yazad Jal on 19 February, Friday from 6:00 - 7:00 PM IST.

The session was held virtually via Zoom and was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr V.C. Vivekanandan, wherein he delivered the opening remarks and stressed the importance of public policy in today’s globalised world and its essential understanding for law students while sharing anecdotes from his personal and professional life.

Mr Jal spoke on the Nirvana Fallacy, the Public Choice Theory, the Rule of Law, and the role of institutions in a Political Economy.

The talk saw healthy participation from students with intriguing questions being raised throughout the session and during the QnA parked towards the end of the discussion.
