A cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography for security.
Basic things you need to know:-
• Cannot be counterfeit.
• Better security.
• No regulating bodies.
• Decentralized Ledger system
• Peer to Peer community

There are a lot of currencies out there which are created in the ecosystem of their own community or company.

Does it have realistic approach towards the public?
Yes, It does because of its decentralized ledge system is immutable towards hacks where as a centralized body such as a bank is centralized and prone to hacks and it will help the community to have a smooth functionality.
