Few months ago, while reviewing a draft of agreement, my associate added the "Force Majeure" clause in the Agreement. The Client had called to understand why the clause was added, why was it relevant to him and was it worth it?
Now in this lock down situation, he found it totally worth it!

As per Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act, 2013, all organizations with 10 or more employees have to constitute Internal Committee which can respond to and resolve complaints of sexual harassment filed by any woman employee.

Yet another step has now been taken by two state governments - Telengana and Maharashtra.

The Women Development and Child Welfare departments for both states have issued notices that all companies must register their IC with the government.

For Telangana, it needs to be registered with the State Government by 15th July, 2019.

For Maharashtra, it needs to be registered with the State Government 20th July, 2019 (Mumbai Region).

Failing to register within the stipulated time will attract a fine of Rs 50,000 in that state.

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013 is mandatory law.
Every Workplace having minimum 10 employees needs to have Internal Committee to investigate in the complaints is sexual harassment.

Often Internal Committee (IC) Members are new to the investigation process or they may not be sure of their specific roles.

Our IC workshop is designed to equip Committee Members with the knowledge and skills required to handle complaints, complete the investigation process and implement strategies to prevent harassment at all levels in the organization.
