The Supreme Court of India has issued strong enforcement directions in the Jojari River pollution case.

โข Special courts to be set up in Jodhpur, Pali, and Balotra
โข Immediate closure of polluting industrial units
โข Sealing of illegal discharge points and pipelines
โข Ban on tanker-based disposal of toxic effluents
โข Mandatory Zero Liquid Discharge compliance
Repeat violators cannot resume operations without Court approval.
The Court has called out prolonged regulatory failure and grounded its directions in Article 21 - the right to life, which includes the right to a clean environment and safe water.
