: Proposed 14-Hour Workday for Karnataka IT Firms

Hello everyone,
As many of us have heard, Karnataka IT firms have recently proposed a 14-hour workday to the Government.
This significant change brings forth various perspectives, and I am keen to understand your thoughts on this matter. Reflecting on my journey since the late 90s, when Saturdays were regular working days, we have seen a gradual shift towards a 5-day work week, which many of us have become accustomed to. However, this new proposal could potentially reshape our work culture once again.
Considerations for discussion:
- Work-Life Balance: How would this extended workday impact the delicate balance between professional commitments and personal life?
- Productivity: Could longer hours lead to higher productivity, or might it result in burnout and decreased efficiency?
- Economic Growth: What implications could this have on the economic growth of our country, both in the short and long term?
