Making India proud, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has scripted history as India's lunar exploration mission Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the surface of the moon. With this, India has become the fourth country in the world to achieve this feat after the United States, Russia, and China, and has become the only country in the world to land on the lunar south pole.
The Moon's south pole region is being explored for the possibility of the presence of water in permanently shadowed areas around it.
