पुणे जिल्हा विधी सेवा प्राधिकरण व पिंपरी चिंचवड ॲडव्होकेट्स बार असोसिएशन यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने विनामूल्य कायदेविषयक सल्ला केंद्र,
तसेच इथे डेक्कन एज्युकेशन सोसायटीचे श्री नवलमल फिरोदिया विधी महाविद्यालया तर्फे लीगल एड केंद्र येथील विद्यार्थ्यांनी लोकांना भेटून कायद्याविषयी जनजागृती केली. तसेच तेथील नागरीकांचा कायद्याविषयी प्रश्नांचा निवारण केले. तेथील नागरिकांचा कायदेविषयक अडचणींचा आढावा घेतला.

9th December 2022 the Inauguration Ceremony of LEGAL AID CLINIC in DES SNFLC, Pune.
The dignitaries took time out of thier busy schedule and graced us with thier presence. They personally congratulated all the Faculty members and took a moment to click a memorable picture with them.

9th December 2022 the Inauguration Ceremony of LEGAL AID CLINIC in DES SNFLC, Pune.
The auditorium was filled with students eager to hear what the chief guests and dignitaries had to say .
The dignitaries touched upon the need for legal aid clinic from the point of view of society that can be instrumental in helping people access justice and make lawyers sensitive to the needs of society. Chief guests shared thier views on the growing legal fees charged by lawyers leaving those who cannot afford away from the reach of justice, hence he stressed what the legal aid clinic must to do to contribute for society, even if might be treated as a humble beginning.

The inauguration of legal aid clinic in our institute was indeed a prominent event for all of us.
The Chief Guest for the ceremony were Honorable Prof. Dr. K.V. Kale Sir - Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
It was an honour for us to have such a luminous personality as the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony.

Then the second guest of honour were Dr. Sharad Kunthe - Chairman Governing Body and Council , DES.

Today on the occasion of Constitution Day , we the students of DES SNFLC got the chance to host an event regarding delivering speeches on Article 21 , D.k. Basu vs State of West Bengal , Article 39-A of the Indian Constitution.
The boys hosted the event in the Gents Prison and the girls hosted it in the Ladies Prison.
Around 200 prisoners were present for today's programme.
It was an lifetime experience for all of us.
We are very thankful to the District Legal Services Authority Pune for giving us such an incredible opportunity for celebrating this day.

students and Faculty in-charge of Legal Aid Centre, Shri Navalmal Firodia Law college, pune attended and participated in Mediation Awareness Programme organized by District Court. The programme was organized for advocates, litigants, law college students, representatives of insurance, and bank officials. Purpose of organizing the program was to make people aware about the legal provisions and functioning of mediation center.
Mediation is one of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods contemplated under Section 89 of the Code of Civil Procedure enacted by the Parliament. Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party assists the disputing parties to creatively resolve their disputes without going to trial. Mediation presents a unique opportunity for dispute resolution with the involvement and participation of all the parties and their advocates.

A neutral third party called "mediator" uses special negotiation skills and communication techniques to help litigants bridge their differences and find a solution to their dispute. Mediation always leaves the decision making power with the parties. A Mediator does not decide what is fair or right or apportion blame. Rather, a mediator acts as a catalyst to bring the two disputing parties together by defining issues and eliminating obstacles for communication and settlement.

Benefits of Mediation

1. Disputes can be dealt with promptly.

2. It provides an opportunity to address the situation before the problem accelerate.

3. Parties control the outcome of the dispute. It provides a win win situation for both the parties as they play an important role in formulating the terms of the settlement.

4. Improves relationship between disputing parties.

5. Creates a forum where disputes and issues can be heard and addressed by the parties with the help of a neutral third party.

6. It saves money as the disputes are promptly settled or if not settled are referred back to the court immediately

Lok Adalat is a Statutory Organization under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and was created as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism used in India to resolve disputes/grievances outside courts. It is a forum where cases pending on panchayat, or at a pre-litigation stage in a court of law, are settled. Under this Act, the award (decision) made by the Lok Adalats is deemed to be a civil court case and is final and binding on all parties. No appeal against such an award lies before any court of law. If the parties are not satisfied with the award of the Lok Adalat (though there is no provision for an appeal against such an award), they are free to initiate litigation by approaching the court of appropriate jurisdiction. We had 2 desks for guiding people , our volunteers were standing in front of court rooms ...for guidingOn that day we had around 100 volunteers right from 9:00 am till the end of the day

Lok Adalat- 12/11/2022.
The volunteers for lok Adalat started thier work on 17th October and were working continuously everyday for 20 days with the district legal service authority pune in shivaji nagar district Court. Everyone worked with different departments and helped the Court to provide speedy justice to people with minimal simplified procedures.

We were honoured to have a meeting with Rupali Tai Chakankar Head of Maharashtra State Women Commission ( अध्यक्ष - महाराष्ट्र राज्य महिला आयोग )

Such a big personality with a grounded nature. Rupali Tai gave us her valuable time from her such a busy schedule.

The legal aid centre along with the Paripoorti Cell of our college will be working in co-ordination regarding the women's rights. The Maharshtra State Women's Commission will be providing us with various cases on women to work upon.

In the coming time various workshops, programmes will also be organised by both of these departments in relation to many walks of our legal field.

Under the Pan India Movement our college legal aid team in association with The District Legal Services Authority,Pune had organised a legal awareness campaign on Senior Citizens Rights. In this rally around 25 volunteers had volunteered.

8 of the volunteers from our Legal Aid Team delivered speeches covering various topics related to senior citizens rights.

We had organised this campaign in Swami Krupa Ashirwad Vrudhniwas near Nanded City.
