Happy World IP Day from Kan and Krishme!

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization, this
year's theme focuses on Intellectual Property (IP) and Youth - Innovating for a Better Future. Keeping up with the theme of this year, did you know that the Goverment of India and the Indian Patent Office have taken several initiatives to encourage young entrepreneurs, innovators and inventors to use IP? A few such initiatives are listed below

▫️Under the recently amended Indian Patents Rules, 2022, educational institutions are eligible for upto 80% discount on filing fee when they file a patent application in India.

▫️The cost of obtaining a patent for natural persons, start-ups and small entities is significantly lower than that for large entities.

▫️The Indian Patents Rules allow start-ups, small entities and female natural persons to apply for expedited examination of their patent applications.
