District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the District Administration and Nuapada NAC organized the single-use plastic ban campaign, cleanliness drive and tree planting programme today. The morning began with a Swachhata awareness rally in which Ms. Navneeta Dash, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kurukshetra Naik, Executive Officer, NAC, Nuapada alongwith Panel Lawyers and PLVs of the DLSA, workers of the NAC, Nuapada and Anganwadi and ASHA workers of Sirtol, Nuapada participated with full vigour. The rally aimed to spread awareness for creating a cleanliness and plastic-free society Nuapada. It was followed by a cleanliness drive in Sirtol Main Road. Then, around 15 saplings were planted in Ambedkar Chowk, Sirtol. Thereafter, two cleanliness drives were organized at both Anganwadi Centres-1 and 3 in Sirtol to clean up plastic waste (such as spoons, plastic polythene bags, broken glass bottles etc.) and other garbage thrown in the feasts. PLVs of DLSA shouted out loud slogans such as ‘Parivesha suraksha, jeevan raksha,’’ ‘Maa pain gachha tie,’ ‘sishu pain gachha tie’ etc. in the rally on the recent ban on single-use plastic and other green initiatives being adopted in Nuapada for the past one year. Secretary DLSA- Ms. Dash informed that this is the 10th cleanliness drive organized by the D.L.S.A today in Nuapada district in collaboration with other authorities. She added that earlier such cleaning drives have been organized by the DLSA at Khariar Road NAC, Khariar NAC, Ekalavya School, Silva G.P, Khutbanbhera G.P, Holy Home Old Age Home in Kurumpuri G.P and at several other places. On this occasion, Ward No.12 Councillor Bhagwati Dandasena, Swachha Sathi Manju Jagat, Supervisor Sumitra Padhi, Anganwadi Worker Rukmani Dandasena, Malti Pandey, Asha Didi Saubhagya Jal and members of general public of Sirtol and nearby areas also participated.
In Chalmunda, Ward No. 12 of Khariar Road NAC and Thelkobheda village of Amsena Gram Panchayat, Government Pleader-cum-Member, DLSA, Trilok Chand Soni, PLV Manisha Bag and staff of DLSA collaborated with the Chairman and Executive Officer, NAC, Khariar Road and in Sarabong Gram Panchayat, Pyarilal Dewangan, Panel Lawyer, DLSA and Secretary, Nuapada District Bar Association participated alongwith the ADM (Gen.) Subas Raita and BDO, Sarpanch, Sarabong, Panchayat Samiti Member and others in cleanliness-cum-plantation drives. PLV Azim Ali participated in a rally and drive in Lakhna, PLVs Krishna Dewangan & Monalisha Dewangan in Parkod G.P, PLVs Kaushal Chandrakar and Rajnikant Naik in Kodomeri of Beltukri G.P, PLV Premsila Naik in Tanwat G.P, PLV Anju Tandi in Junani of Godfula G.P also participated with full gusto in the drives organized at their respective G.Ps.
Similarly, single-use plastic cleaning programmes were also organized by the Taluk Legal Services Committees of Khariar, Sinapali, Boden and Komna. In Khariar, Taluk Legal Services Committee Chairman-cum- Senior Civil Judge Isha Paty, JMFC Samiksha Sa, Panel Advocates and PLVs, in Sinapali, Taluk Legal Services Committee Chairman-cum-JMFC Pragyan Paramita Mohanty, Panel Advocates and PLVs; and in Boden, JMFC-cum-Chairman, Taluk Legal Services Committee Pallavi Das, Panel Advocates and PLVs were present and conducted cleanliness drives in their respective stations.
