CBDT has provided major relief to the trade & industry by issuing Circular No. 23/2016 dated 24-06-2016 clarifying that the new provision of collection of TCS by seller u/s 206C (1D) shall be applicable only if the cash consideration exceed Rs. 2 Lacs and the rate of 1% shall also be applied only the cash consideration and not on the total invoice value.
