The Supreme Court has issued directions for the temporary suspension of limitation period for all cases, till further orders.

Since the lock down in India has been extended till May 3, 2020, all deadlines related to trade marks, patents and designs automatically stand extended to the day that the IPO re-opens (currently scheduled for May 4, 2020). Courts are closed till May 3, 2020 and only extremely urgent matters are being listed. The Supreme Court has issued directions for the temporary suspension of limitation period for all cases, till further orders.

Due to the unfortunate COVID 19 pandemic, India is under a total lockdown for 3 weeks until April 15, 2020.

While we remain fully functional with remote access, we are unable to access our office and therefore we request all correspondence only by email. Please hold off sending documents that you may need to send us by mail or courier, till further notice.

Some important updates:
The Indian IPO has suspended all hearings related to trade marks, patents and designs till 15th April.

All deadlines related to trade marks, patents and designs automatically stand extended to the day that the IPO re-opens (currently scheduled for April 16, 2020).

The Intellectual Property Appellate Board has adjourned hearings to April 21 and April 22, respectively.

The Supreme Court has issued directions for the temporary suspension of limitation period for all cases, till further orders. Courts are closed till April 15, only extremely urgent matters are being listed.

In a landmark ruling the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi has restrained Amazon and other e-commerce portals from offering for sale, selling, facilitating, repackaging products sourced from Direct Selling Entities, except from sellers who produce written permission/consent of the Direct Selling Entity for sale online.

HC direction comes on the pleas of 3 direct sellers alleging that products under their brands were being sold on the e-commerce platforms at cheaper rates resulting in financial losses to them.Direct sellers also raise apprehension that the goods may be tampered with or counterfeited
