Objects and Functions:
a) Objects:
(i) The principal object of the society will be to promote the interests of all its members to attain their social and economic betterment through self-help and mutual aid in accordance with the cooperative principles. (ii) To acquire either through outright purchase or on lease, land for development and construction for residential house/flats for giving to
its members either on lease or rent but ownership of land and residential house/flats shall remain with the society. (iii) To lease out residential house to the members on such terms and conditions as may be fixed by the Government and the society. (iv) To undertake repair of houses of the members when necessary. (v) To advance loans to the members for payment of premium or for repair of the house/flats leased out to them and other allied needs. (vi) To arrange for providing to its members of necessary common amenities and facilities as may be found practicable by the local bodies, authority or Corporation. (vii) To arrange for the maintenance of the estate of the society including roads, lances and park etc. b) Functions:
In furtherance of the above objects, the society may undertake any or all the following activities:
(i) Ensure compliance of the cooperative principle;
(ii) Provide specialized training, education and data-based information;
(iii) Promote harmonious relations amongst members;
(iv) Assist members in organizing self-help;
6. Society to be a Body Corporate:
(As per section 9 of MSCS Act, 2002)
The registration of the society shall render it a body corporate having perpetual succession and with power to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both moveable and immoveable, enter into contract, institute and defend suits and other legal proceedings and to do all things necessary for the purpose for which it is constituted and shall by the said name, sue or be sued.
7. Eligibility for Obtaining Ordinary Membership:
(1) An applicant shall be eligible to become ordinary member of the society if he fulfills following condition;
(a) He has applied in writing in the prescribed form. (b) He has given declaration that he is not a member of any other similar co-operative society. (d) He resides within the area of operation. (e) His interest does not conflict with the interest of the society. (f) He has attained the age of 18 years. (g) He has paid admission fee and purchased minimum one share and paid the value thereof in full. (h) He has fulfilled all other conditions laid down in the Act, the rules and the bye-laws. (2) No person shall be eligible for admission as a member of the society if:
(a) He has been adjudged by a competent court to be a insolvent or a undercharged insolvent and genuinely need the services provided by the society. (b) He has been sentenced for any offence, other than offence of a political character or an offence not involving moral turpitude and dishonesty and a period of five years has not elapsed from the date of expiry of the sentence.
8. Membership & Admission Fees:
The society shall have the following membership & their Admission fees;
(i) Ordinary Members : Rs. 50/- only
(ii) Nominal or Associate Members :Rs. 10/- only
(iii) Life Time Member of Village :Rs. 100/- only
(iv) Life Time Member of Govt Employee of Village :Rs. 500/- Only
(v) Life Time Member of Haldwani & Outsie : Rs. 1000/- Only
