*Sometimes, We Just Need To Be Heard*
Today I learned that not every feeling arrives with the correct name.
I woke up this morning feeling angry. No reason. No argument. No specific person. No bad news.
I tried keeping myself busy. I washed clothes, completed household chores, moved around, but the feeling stayed.
When I paused and started talking about it, I realized it wasn't really anger.
There was no racing heartbeat. No tension in the body. No urge to fight.
What I was actually feeling was a strange sense of loneliness and disconnection. A quiet thought that nobody really understands me, that nobody is there for me.
And then something interesting happened.
The moment I expressed those feelings, they began to lose their power.
No advice. No solution. No dramatic breakthrough.
Just a conversation.
Sometimes we don't need answers. We need a safe space to speak without being judged.
As professionals, caregivers, leaders, advocates, counsellors, parents, and friends, we spend so much time listening to others that we forget we also need someone who can simply listen to us.
A reminder for today:
Not every bad day is a crisis. Not every feeling is a fact. And sometimes, healing begins the moment we stop carrying everything alone.
If you're having one of those days, be gentle with yourself. Tomorrow may look very different.
Lesson - *Not every emotion needs a solution; sometimes it simply needs a voice*.
