A gathering of representatives from the Dard Se Humdard Tak (DSHT) Trust was organized today. During this event, Dr. Virendrasinh Tawade, who was acquitted in the Dabholkar murder case, shared his thoughts. Having journeyed from facing major allegations to a complete acquittal, Dr. Tawade presented the raw truth of what happens behind prison walls.
​He shed light on the life of an undertrial prisoner—from the struggle for adequate legal aid to the grueling daily conditions of prison life. His testimony made the volunteer advocates realize the urgent need to expand the organization’s work on a larger scale.
​For many years, DSHT has been consistently working to provide free legal aid to incarcerated prisoners and to create legal awareness in society. Dr. Tawade’s case was fought pro bono (free of cost) by Advocate Prakash Salsingikar on behalf of DSHT.

​We were honored to welcome Adv. Kaushik Mhatre to the DSHT office today.
​An alumnus of the prestigious Faculty of Law, Delhi University—sharing the same alma mater as legends like Arun Jaitley and Kapil Sibal—Adv. Mhatre’s journey is truly unique. After clearing the UPSC and holding a Class I post, he resigned to follow his true calling in the courtroom.
​⚖️ Legal Excellence & Impact
​Special Public Prosecutor: He currently represents the state in several high-profile cases, bringing his expertise to the forefront of the justice system.
​Landmark Victory: In January 2025, he secured a significant High Court judgment regarding the illegal installation of loudspeakers on religious institutions, reinforcing public order and the rule of law.
