Offences are distinguished into two:- Bailable offences & Non Bailable Offences. In Bailable Offences, Bail is granted by the police and it is a matter of right. Generally, Offences which are punishable for less than three years are called as Bailable offences. Schedule 1 of Cr.P.C gives a list for bailable and Non Bailable Offence.
