A Tribute to Wang Wang
​In Jieyang, China, a tragic and heinous act of cruelty was committed against a stray dog named Wang Wang and her defenseless puppies, who were brutally beaten and burned alive.
​Wang Wang possessed a remarkably gentle and sweet disposition. Though she had the opportunity to flee and save herself, she chose to stay, bound by a mother's instinct to shield her puppies from harm. Her simple pleasures included playing in puddles, yet her reality was harsh: she sought refuge within a drain in an abandoned area, slept upon discarded plastic bags, and sustained herself entirely on food scraps.
​Despite her impoverished circumstances, her spirit remained unbroken. She affectionately wagged her tail for anyone who offered her a gentle pat, maintaining an unwavering trust in humanity until the very end.
​Neither Wang Wang nor her innocent offspring deserved such a horrific fate. May her memory endure, and may her story serve as a reminder of the urgent need for compassion.
