I was at the Police Station and next to me was an Inspector of Punjab Police eulogizing the force.
In the light of which he said we do a great job in registering a case even though people condemn us
What they don't realize is that by doing this we create so many avenues from where people start earning their lively hood.
I scratched my head and asked him to explain
whereupon he showed his intellect by saying . Look more cases means more lawyers ,judges,courts,staff ,jails and all the paraphernalia and everybody is either earning or being paid by the Government .These people spend their money and create more avenues for the industry.
I asked pointing to a criminal freshly brought into the police station in lieu of an FIR registered against him
Whereupon he said because of him we are here
Suddenly I realized that criminals are our andattas .They are the source of our bread and butter , then why not worship them . No doubt Anna Hazare and others are going around in circles and legislatures are feeling justified .
This inspector is another Keynes in economics and needs to be honored in this time of recession.
