History was made today as a sitting Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal) argued before the Hon'ble CJI court, on the SIR issue. This marks a significant shift in legal history.

Rather than appearing for the sake of her office, she is stepping into the role of a petitioner-in-spirit. This event represents an absolute blend of the legislature and the judiciary.

It is a remarkable return to her legal roots, as she pursued her law degree from JC Choudhuri Law College, Kolkata.
