Important Decisions of38th GST Council Meeting:

1. Due dates extended for GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for FY 2017-18 till 31 January 2020.

2.The amount of ITC availed on a provisional basis restricted to 10%, earlier it was 20%.

3. Last Date to file all your GSTR 1 From July,17 to Nov, 19 is 10.01.2020, After that there may be Levy of Late fees on GSTR 1 also.

4. If the taxpayer does not still file GSTR 1 for more than two consecutive tax periods, then e-way bills of such taxpayer will be blocked from generation.

5. The SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) is to be released for the benefit of tax officers about actions taken for non-filing of GSTR-3B. These will help in blocking or reversal of fake ITC availed.

6. The due date extension for GST returns for some North Eastern States (November 2019) to be extended till 31 Dec 2019.

7. The GST Council decided to levy 28% tax on all lotteries, prior it was 12% for State Owned.

15th December is Due date to deposit your 75% Advance Tax for the year ending 31st March,2020.
Kindly pay advance taxes to avoid interest payments.

Advance tax means paying a part of your taxes in advance before the end of the financial year. Also called ‘pay-as-you-earn’ tax. If your tax liability is more than Rs. 10,000 in a financial year then you have to pay tax in advance and these tax payments have to be made in installments as per due dates provided by the income tax department.
