The. Supreme Court collegium in its meeting held on 1st September approved the proposal for elevation of Advocate shri krishna Rao and Ms Koyeli Bhattacharyya as judges in The High Court , Calcutta. the Supreme Court collegium has also recommended elevation of 4 judicial Officers as the judge of the High court , Calcutta.More over The Collegium has reiterated the following names for Calcutta High court : 1) shri jaytosh Majumdar 2) shri Amitesh Banerjee 3) shri Raja Basu Chowdhury and 4) smt Lapita Banerji .

Allahabad High Court Expressed it's displeasure for the conduct of a lawyer,who after finding that the court was disagreeing with the merit of the case, sought permission of the bench to argue the matter before another bench.The Hon'ble justice Vivek Agrawal though didn't take any adverse action against the lawyer considering the fact that the lawyer had put in just four years of practice, but remark " I express my "displeasure" in the strictest sense of the word " displeasure" to such practice being adopted by lawyers who are either lacking legal training in an appropriate chamber of seniors or who are full of arrogance to ask for such favor of permitting them to argue their case before another bench, when a particular court expresses its opinion of not entertaining their application." Thereafter the Hon'ble judge emphasises on compulsory training of junior counsels as to what kind of argument they are supposed to make and what should be the demeanor in the court.

The CJI N V Ramana while addressing at the event organised by supreme court bar association in celebration of 75th Independence Day.. expressed His unhappiness about the lack of debate in parliament while laws are enacted in present days.The CJI said that earlier there wise and constructive debate in parliament, which enable the court to understand object and intent of the laws." But now it is a sorry state of affairs, we see legislation with a lots of ambiguities and a lots of gaps in laws. There is no clarity regarding the laws.we don't know for what purpose a law has been made,....." The CJI also said" this is what happen when intellectuals and lawyers are not there in our House.i don't want to say more than this......" While expressing unhappiness The CJI recall the role played by Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Rajendra Prasad and also cited the example of parliamentary debate during the enactment of Industrial Dispute Act ,the elaborate discussion which leaded by the then member of the House Mr.Ramamoorthy from from Tamilnadu. Against this backdrop The CJI asked the lawyers don't confine to the profession, earning money and living comfortably, " please think over it.....do some good service and I hope goodness will come to the country" the CJI said.
