ভগৎ সিং-এর বিপ্লবী জীবন (সংক্ষেপে)

জন্ম: ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর ১৯০৭, পাঞ্জাব (বর্তমান পাকিস্তান)।

প্রভাব: ছোটবেলা থেকেই ব্রিটিশবিরোধী আন্দোলনে যুক্ত ছিলেন। জলিয়ানওয়ালা বাগ হত্যাকাণ্ড তাঁর মনে গভীর ক্ষোভের সৃষ্টি করে।

প্রধান কর্মকাণ্ড:

১৯২৮: লালা লাজপত রায়-এর মৃত্যুর প্রতিশোধ নিতে পুলিশ অফিসার জে. পি. সন্ডার্সকে হত্যা করেন।

১৯২৯: দিল্লির কেন্দ্রীয় পরিষদে (সেন্ট্রাল অ্যাসেম্বলি) বোমা বিস্ফোরণ ঘটান, উদ্দেশ্য ছিল কাউকে হত্যা করা নয়, বরং ব্রিটিশ শাসনের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানানো।

গ্রেফতার ও ফাঁসি:
১৯২৯ সালে গ্রেফতার হন। দীর্ঘ বিচার শেষে ২৩ মার্চ ১৯৩১-এ ভগৎ সিং, রাজগুরু ও সুখদেবকে ফাঁসি দেওয়া হয়।

ভগৎ সিং শুধু একজন বিপ্লবী ছিলেন না, তিনি একজন চিন্তাবিদও ছিলেন, যিনি সমাজতন্ত্র ও যুক্তিবাদের ওপর ভিত্তি করে সাম্যবাদী ভারত গড়ার স্বপ্ন দেখেছিলেন। তাঁর "আমি নাস্তিক কেন" রচনাটি আজও প্রাসঙ্গিক, কারণ এটি স্বাধীন চিন্তার অনুপ্রেরণা জোগায়।

ভগৎ সিং তাঁর প্রবন্ধ "আমি নাস্তিক কেন" (Why I am an Atheist) ৫-৬ সেপ্টেম্বর ১৯৩০ সালে লাহোর সেন্ট্রাল জেলে বসে লেখেন। এটি মূলত তাঁর আত্মপক্ষসমর্থনের একটি রচনা, যেখানে তিনি ব্যাখ্যা করেছেন কেন তিনি ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস করেন না এবং কীভাবে বিপ্লবী চেতনার বিকাশের সাথে সাথে তাঁর দর্শন বদলেছে।

2. বিপ্লবী চেতনা ও যুক্তিবাদ:
তিনি মনে করতেন, সমাজ পরিবর্তন করতে হলে বৈজ্ঞানিক ও যুক্তিবাদী চিন্তাধারা দরকার। ঈশ্বরের ধারণা শোষকদের স্বার্থ রক্ষা করে, কারণ এটি দরিদ্রদের বোঝায় যে তাদের কষ্ট ভবিতব্য এবং এর বিরুদ্ধে কিছু করা উচিত নয|
