📚 Legal Term of the Day: Lease
🔍 Meaning:
A lease is a legal arrangement where the owner of a property (lessor) grants the right to use and occupy it to another person (lessee) for a specified period in exchange for rent or consideration.
🏬 Example:
If A rents out a commercial shop to B for five years at a monthly rent, the agreement between them is a lease, giving B lawful possession during that period.
⚖️ Why It Matters:
Leases define the rights and duties of landlords and tenants, including rent, duration, and use of property. For law students and legal professionals, understanding leases is essential for property law, contract drafting, and dispute resolution.
