The Supreme Court has delivered a major judgment in Dhananjay Rathi v. Ruchika Rathi that every husband, wife, lawyer, and family involved in matrimonial disputes should know about.

• Withdrawal of consent before final mutual divorce is legally allowed
• But mediated settlements cannot be casually abandoned after implementation
• Misusing legal proceedings to harass the other party may amount to abuse of process
