J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu appreciates steps taken by CJI and CJ of J&K and Ladakh for fuel conservation; appeals for fuel conservation and sustainable measures.

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (Regd.), Jammu, has issued an appeal to all members of the legal fraternity to actively support and adopt fuel conservation measures in view of the prevailing global situation and the national call for optimum utilisation of resources.

The Association noted that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has recently urged citizens across the country to adopt responsible fuel-saving practices. In furtherance of this appeal, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has resolved to conduct hearings on miscellaneous days through virtual mode on two days every week, while also encouraging carpooling and work from home practices to ensure efficient fuel utilisation.

The Association also appreciated the initiative taken by Hon’ble the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in reducing the size of the official convoy as a significant step towards promoting fuel conservation and responsible use of resources.

In line with these developments, the Bar Association has requested all learned members of the Bar to cooperate with the initiative by adopting practical fuel-saving measures, including carpooling and minimising unnecessary use of vehicles wherever feasible.

The Association expressed confidence that the cooperation of all members in this national endeavour would be highly appreciated and would contribute meaningfully towards sustainable and responsible practices.
