Delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (Regd.), Jammu called on Sham Lal Sharma, MLA from Jammu North; felicitates for his contribution of ₹10 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund.

The delegation of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (Regd.), Jammu, led by Vice President S. Baldev Singh and accompanied by Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan, Advocates Pawan Khajuria, Nitin Gupta, Gagandeep Singh and Sumit Khajuria called upon MLA Jammu North Sham Lal Sharma, to present a token of appreciation and express the legal community’s heartfelt gratitude to MLA Sharma for his timely and significant contribution for the Bar.

Speaking on the occasion, S.Baldev Singh Vice President emphasised that Mr. Sharma’s support strengthens institutions that serve the cause of justice and benefits the larger community. They noted that the funds will be instrumental in supporting the Association’s activities and initiatives intended to improve access to legal services and the professional welfare of advocates.

Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan on behalf of President K. Nirmal Kotwal (Sr.Adv), General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal and all esteemed members of BAR thanked Mr. Sharma for his commitment to public service and for recognizing the role of the Bar in upholding the rule of law. The members conveyed their best wishes for his continued dedication to developmental and welfare initiatives in Jammu North.

JKHCBAJ felicitated Hon’ble Chief Jusitce (Acting) Sh. Sanjeev Kumar.

The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association (Regd.), Jammu warmly welcomed Hon’ble Chief Justice (Acting) Sh. Sanjeev Kumar and the companion of during their visit to the Hon’ble Vinod Kumar Gupta Memorial Bar Hall at the High Court Complex, Jammu. The Association also felicitated Justice Sanjeev Kumar on his elevation as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

President Nirmal K. Kotwal (Sr. Advocate) in his address reaffirm the longstanding spirit of mutual respect and cooperation between the Bench and the Bar. President lauded Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Kumar for his exemplary legal acumen, integrity, and commitment to judicial excellence. He conveyed confidence that under his guidance, the High Court will continue to preserve judicial independence, expedite delivery of justice, and implement reforms that strengthen judicial processes.

In his address, the Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Kumar expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the importance of a collaborative judiciary and bar in upholding the rule of law and ensuring access to justice for all citizens. He lauded the efforts of the Bar team for strengthening the relation between Bar and the Bench during their tenure.

The event was hosted by General Secretary of the association Sh. Pardeep Majotra.

Office bearers including Vice President Baldev Singh, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal also attended the function. JKHCBAJ thanked all the Judges, Senior Designated Advocates, Senior Advocates, Female Advocates and Young Lawyers for attending the function, and appreciated their continous faith and trust in the association.

Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (Regd.), Jammu condoled the sad demise of Advocates Sh. Pardeep Malhotra, Sh. Mukhtar Sheikh, Mohd Saleem Bhatti and Advocates Clerk Mohd. Raiz Mir.

A condolence meeting was held today on Thursday, 04-06-2026 which was presided over by Sh. K. Nirmal Kotwal, President JKHCBAJ to mourn the untimely demise Advocates Sh. Pardeep Malhotra, Sh. Mukhtar Sheikh and Mohd Saleem Bhatti, who left for their heavenly abode. Their contributions to the Bar were remembered by all the members present in the meeting. The legal fraternity bid farewell to truly exceptional lawyers. With their departure, the Bar has lost not only skilled Advocates but also pillars of wisdom, integrity and dedication. Their absence will be deeply felt by colleagues as their contributions have left an incredible mark on the profession. The legacy they have left behind will continue to inspire future generations of Lawyers.

The members also condoled the demise of Advocate Clerk Mohd. Riaz Mir who expired today.

All the members present in the meeting prayed to almighty to provide strength and courage to the families of the deceased.
