Canada launching 6 new immigration programs for international graduates, essential workers and French speakers

Canada’s immigration minister, Marco Mendicino, announced the new programs on April 14. Three of the new programs will pave the way for 90,000 new immigrants to get permanent status this year. The other three streams for French-speaking immigrants will have no intake cap

IRCC held its second Express Entry draw this week on January 21.

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,626 permanent residence invitations to candidates of the Canadian Experience Class. The Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) cut-off requirement was 454.

IRCC may be returning to a period where PNP-specific draws are followed the next day by draws for candidates in the Canadian Experience Class.
Invitations were issued to a total of 4,750 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. A Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 461 was enough to ensure an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Results of the draw were released today, January 8, 2021.

Canada’s minister of immigration, Marco Mendicino, made two announcements on changes to the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

Applicants no longer need to have accumulated work experience over a continuous period of time. Instead, Canada will count the work experience requirement if it was completed within the three years preceding the application. One year of eligible work experience is still required for the program, but having breaks in employment does not make someone ineligible for the program. This applies to all who have already applied for the pilot, as well as those who apply in the future.
