Whenever you hear in the news "Business in the parliament has been adjourned due to some agitation" and the following questions arise in your mind:
How do the members who disturb the working of the parliament affect the nation?
How partly discussed legislations are creating difficulties in the administration of law and Justice in the Nation?
It is definitely a monetary loss but let's widen our scope to see the BIGGER PICTURE.
Parliament is meant for discussions. People from various fields are invited and nominated to represent their respective fields in the parliament. When a bill is introduced, members are expected to speak and discuss the possible refinements and amendments in the bill so that it becomes refined and well-explained legislation. These discussions play a vital role in the interpretation of statutes by the courts as the statutes are ‘The will of the legislation’ the lead source and the refinement of the statute can only be done when it is well discussed in the parliament. The remaining contradictions and disputes are resolved by the courts. Due to the inefficient working of parliament, if legislations are passed in crude form, it will adversely harm the subject(Citizens) because of ambiguity in determining the ‘Will of the Legislation’ and the whole purpose of passing the legislations may become endangered. And ultimately Legislations shall become a matter of dispute rather than the solution of the dispute.
