It's time to walk the talk upon menstrual leave and bring about a much called for need”

Therefore, Vidhi Mitra The Legal Aid Cell of DNLU in collaboration with Shastrartha The Debating society and The Student Bar Association brings an Open House Discussion regarding the concept of Menstrual Leave on 6th February 2023 at 5:30 PM, Seminar Hall.

Under the NyayBandhu Scheme of Dep of Justice, we the Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Club of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur in collaboration with the E Nyayganga initiative of the National Law Institute University (NLIU) had conducted a series of events with an objective to raise awareness about legal literacy and free legal aid among people.
Visits to High Court, District Courts and District Legal Service Authority(DLSA) were conducted by us, which were very beneficial. There we distributed pamphlets highlighting our initiatives and free legal aid by our clinic. We also run a dedicated free helpline for the unprivileged or people in need and highlighted the idea of Access to Justice for All.

JAIL VISIT BY THE LEGAL AID CELL IN COLLABPRATION WITH NLIU
“Right to Dignity has been enshrined in our constitution and cannot be taken away from anyone, be it a person behind the bars. He has the right to seek legal redressal as equally as a person who moves freely on the land.”
Keeping this in mind the Legal Aid Clinic of DNLU, Jabalpur in collaboration with NLIU, Bhopal’s E-Nyaya Ganga initiative under the aegis of Department of Justice , Nyaybandhu Scheme paid a visit to the central Jail Jabalpur. Under the guidance of Shri. Himanshu Tiwari, the team could interact with the employees of Legal Aid Cell and the criminals, conversed with them regarding their mental state and condition, and ensured them any remedy that they could avail through the pro-bono legal aid clinic.

Wishing you all a happy National voters day .
Every year, a different method is employed to mark this event. It not only promotes young people’s involvement in politics but also emphasises that the right to vote is a fundamental freedom protected by the US Constitution. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters Day in 2023.

The vote is valuable. We must utilise it because it is the most effective nonviolent tool we have in a democratic society

On the occasion of Human Rights Day on 10th December 2022, on behalf of Vidhi Mitra, Legal Aid Cell, Dharmashastra National Law University, a team headed by Harsh Jain and Manya Jain visited Hitkarini Law School for a programme on deliberation on Human Rights.
The Principal and the Vice Principal of the Hitkarni Law School college, Mr Uma Shankar, Additional District Judge and Secretary District Legal Authority (DLSA), Mr. Muhammad Jhilani, District Legal Officer (DLSA) were part of the august gathering.
Detailed deliberation on the topic of human rights was conducted and speakers from Vidhi Mitra also contributed to the discussions.
The visit was a highly edifying one for the members and the cell.

On the occasion of Constitution day Vidhi Mitra, The Legal Aid Cell on 26th November 2022 organised a session in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Jabalpur. The session was filled with disscussions on various practicalities of law, the significance of the day and the constitutional journey of India.

We are thankful to Secretary, DLSA, Shri Umashankar Agrawal and District Legal Officer, Shri Mohamad Jeelani for their kind presence in this session.

The session also enlightened the students about scope of Legal Aid, the functioning of DLSA, Paralegal volunteering, internships at DLSA and other topics.

India’s essence of Democracy originates from the "holy" book, or Constitution, which is worshipped by both lawmakers and citizens for its ability to grant us freedom, a sense of living, equality, and everything needed by a citizen to live a dignified life.

November 26, 1949, was the ‘pious’ day when the Constituent Assembly of independent India duly adopted the present constitution and upheld its importance in the working of the country.

Vidhi Mitra, The Legal Aid of DNLU wishes everyone a very Happy Indian Constitution Day.
Let us celebrate the occasion of Indian Constitution Day by taking pride in our constitution and abiding by it.

The Legal Aid Cell, Vidhi Mitra successfully conducted a Community Halt as part of the Prof. V. S. Mallar Legal Aid Competition, organised by NLS Bangalore and scheme of Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice’s Nyaya Bandhu Pro Bono scheme on 14th October 2022. The team went to Surtalai, a village in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh with prepared questionnaires on Disha Scheme and general awareness regarding Drug and Substance Abuse and visited the homes of the villagers and carried out the surveys. Through these surveys, along with targeted schemes and topics the team was told about the various problems faced by the people including several administrative irregularities and laxities.
The Community Halt served as a medium for Vidhi Mitra to come across and get to know the everyday problems of the villagers and work towards finding solutions and providing help to the best of its ability.
