Believe it or not, a sound alone can tell you exactly which brand it is.

Think about the Nokia tune. The Netflix sound. You know the brand before you even see the logo.

If a sound is distinctive enough, it can be protected as a trademark too. Save this, most people have no idea sound marks exist.

You picked a name. You got a logo made. You started your business.

A registration certificate is not the end of the story.

In this role play, our interns walked through the full arc of a trademark challenge. A registration certificate received, a competitor stepping in to challenge it, a hearing before the Registrar, the legal research that shaped the argument, and finally, the Registrar's decision.

Real IP practice is not just paperwork. It is being ready to defend what you have registered.

You paid for your logo. That doesn't mean you own it.

If ownership isn't properly transferred in writing, the designer stays the legal owner, of your logo, your website content, even your images and videos. Payment alone does not transfer IP.
