What reportedly happened was this:

A junior advocate was appearing before Justice Tarlada Rajasekhar Rao in the Andhra Pradesh High Court during a hearing related to a Look Out Circular and passport impounding matter.

The judge had reportedly asked the lawyer to produce a copy of a previous court order. According to reports and the viral courtroom video:

• The young lawyer allegedly failed to properly produce the order copy
• The judge became angry over what was seen as indiscipline/procedural negligence
• The advocate repeatedly apologised with folded hands
• The judge orally threatened police custody and reportedly directed police personnel to take him into custody for 24 hours

The lawyer was allegedly told things like:
“Now you will get pains” and “Go do dharna at Bar Council.”

The case involves a plea seeking quashing of criminal proceedings initiated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The allegations were made by the wife through the minor child against the father, grandmother, bua, and fufa.

The petitioners contended that the proceedings were an abuse of the legal process arising out of an ongoing matrimonial dispute. They argued that stringent provisions of the POCSO Act had been invoked to exert pressure in a family conflict.
