Returned from INTA 2026 Annual Meeting in London with one clear takeaway:
The future of business will belong to those who understand the value of ideas, brands and identity.
Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to engage with brilliant professionals from across the world - founders, in-house counsel, policymakers and IP practitioners - all discussing how intellectual property is rapidly evolving beyond traditional boundaries.
What fascinated me most was how innovation is reshaping trademark jurisprudence globally, including in India.
A recent example being the recognition of a smell mark in India - something that reflects how modern brand protection is becoming increasingly experience-driven and unconventional.
This year’s INTA also highlighted larger conversations around:
✅ AI and brand protection
✅ Digital enforcement
✅ Non-traditional trademarks
✅ Creator and personality rights
✅ The growing commercial value of IP assets
But beyond the panels and meetings, what truly makes INTA special is the people.
The exchange of perspectives, the friendships formed across jurisdictions and the reminder that the IP community remains one of the most collaborative professional ecosystems in the world.
Excited for what lies ahead for the future of IP !! 🥂
