NOIDA AUTHORITY PLANS TO REVISE ITS STRICT 2015 BUILDING RULES
The Noida Authority plans to revise its strict 2015 building rules to make it easier for residents in 81 villages to get building map approvals.
• For years, most village constructions remained unauthorised because landowners couldn’t meet complex approval requirements, making their properties ineligible for bank loans or mortgages.
• A major obstacle was the need for a no-objection certificate (NOC) from a district-level committee, which discouraged applications and delayed approvals.
• To fix this, a new committee (including officials from Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway authorities) will draft simpler by-laws.
• The new rules aim to:
• Relax restrictions like setbacks and layout requirements
• Remove the NOC requirement
• Allow approvals for smaller and irregularly shaped plots
The draft will be released for public feedback before finalisation.
Overall, the goal is to bring village constructions into the formal system, enabling farmers and residents to access bank credit and legal recognition.
