The 26th Anniversary of martyrdom of Pt. Prem Nath was observed as 'the Chetna Divas' at Jam-packed Auditorium hall women college Gandhi Nagar here today. Pt. Prem Nath was assassinated on December 27, 1989 at Anantnag by a religious fanatic, whom Prem Nath Bhat's preaching of humanitarianism, secularism and national unity were unpalatable
At a solemn function rich tributes were paid to Shaheed Prem Nath, a leading advocate of Anantnag in Kashmir, a selfless social activist, a journalist par excellence, writer of repute and patriot of the core.
This day is observed every year as the Chetna Divas by Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust and rich tribues are paid to late Bhat and all other martyrs in J&K who sacrificed their lives at the altar of motherland in their Endeavour to uphold the national unity and integration.
Noted Bollywood actor Sh. Anupum Kher was the chief guest on this occasion while as job occupation was presided by well known Filmmaker & Social Activist Ashok Pandit and trust president Dr. Pandita has graced the occasion.
While rich tributes are paid to late Bhat and all other martyrs in J&K who sacrificed their lives the eminent scholar and English Knowing journalist Sh. Shiban Khaibri express his shock over the present crisis being faced by the community due to apathetic attitude consideration of the government .He urged upon the government to pass the temple shrine bill without any further delay. He remembered all those events which have crafted at rest fright and terror feelings in the exodus community. He depicted all grieve and lament moments by patriotic song written by Kavi Pradeep,” Aye mere watan ke logon. Zara aankh mein bhar lo paani. Jo shahid hue hain unki. Zaraa yaad karo qurbani” after posthumous award certificates and shawls were distributed among the rebellious victims.

To take out from the depression plagued by feelings of worthlessness, sadness, and lack of hope among the Kip community the renowned Bollywood actor Anupum Kher who was also the chief guest has asked to maintain spirituality, morality among the community and also has urged to preserve the right of kashmiri language among the children and current generation who are the property of the future. He made funny examples in Kashmiri language and said Depression is an illness that requires a good deal of self-care especially he wants to make me smile.
