Just finished another heart-warming session under the Spread Law Legal Awareness Program – this time at GD Goenka Public School, East Delhi.
In the memory of my Guru, the legendary Shri Ram Jethmalani ji, we continue his mission of taking law to every citizen — starting with our children.
Topic: “Legal Implications of Social Media – What Students Must Know Before They Post”
150+ students of Classes 9–12 sat with pin-drop silence (and then bombarded me with questions!) as we discussed real-life laws that today’s teenagers unknowingly break every day:
⚖️ Section 66A IT Act may be gone, but Section 196, 299, 294, 353 & 356 of BNS are very much alive
⚖️ Posting a meme can invite 3 years jail + fine (religious sentiments, obscenity, defamation)
⚖️ Sharing a private photo without consent → Section 66E IT Act + Section 77 BNS (Voyeurism)
⚖️ That “funny” morphed image or deepfake → up to 7 years under Section 67A
⚖️ Cyberbullying, sextortion & online stalking → now criminal offences under BNS + IT Act
⚖️ Even “liking” or forwarding hate speech can land you in trouble
⚖️ How the Juvenile Justice Act protects both the victim and the young bully
Huge thanks to the management, principal, and teachers of GD Goenka East Delhi for trusting Spread Law Group with their children’s legal literacy.
If your school or college wants this eye-opening, fully interactive workshop (free or sponsored), please DM or comment “SCHOOL” below — my calendar is open.
Let’s raise a generation that scrolls responsibly.
Because one post can change a life — for better or for worse.
