Good news for Canada aspirants!

IRCC (Immigration, Refugee & Citizenship Canada) plans to issue 73,700 ITA’s (Invitation to Apply) for Federal economic programs in the year 2017 and the number of ITAs being issued so far, explains that Canada is keen on bringing in Immigrants as per their annual target this year.

We are glad to summarise the gradual decrease in CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points and increase in number of ITAs issued since January. A total number of 3884 ITAs were issued in the latest draw held on March 1st for applicants with 434 points or more.

Draw CRS Score ITA
6th Draw 434 3884
5th Draw 441 3611
4th Draw 447 3664
3rd Draw 453 3508
2nd Draw 459 3334
1st Draw 468 2902

Ontario provincial nominee program is also now open for CRS 400 and above. The OINP is now identifying qualified applicants from the federal government’s Express Entry pool and will issue Notifications of Interest to applicants that meet the criteria.
Eligibility criteria:

1. Have a valid profile in the Express Entry pool;
2. Qualify for either the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC);
3. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: A minimum of 400 points in the CRS of IRCC’s Express Entry system.

We notice a positive trend right from the start of this year, January 2017 and with Ontario re-opening their Ontario Immigration Nominee Program / Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, it is highly encouraging to submit your application into Express Entry pool.

This is the right time to initiate your Canada migration process as the turnaround time may be lesser than envisaged. And indeed, there is reason to believe that the CRS threshold may continue to decrease.

Please contact us for more information and to know success stories of clients who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR.

A growing number of Indian students’ arrival in New Zealand has bolstered the country’s annual net migration figure to a new record.According to Statistics New Zealand, the country’s annual permanent and long-term migration showed a record net gain — the number of arrivals over departures — of 59,600 migrants till July this year, resulting from 117,100 arrivals and 57,500 departures, Xinhua reported.The figure was boosted by students from India and China, according to stuff.co.nz. The website said that after Australia the next biggest group of migrants was from India, with three-quarters on student visas.

Some Updates on New Zealand Immigration:

1) New Zealand’s new immigration policies favor Indians
The Indian diaspora in New Zealand welcomed the country’s fresh migration plans aimed at rejuvenating the provinces that have a “massive skills mismatch”, a report said. “Government measures to attract migrants, Indians in particular, to the regions are a good idea. It makes sense to give migrants the opportunity to use their skills to develop regional areas rather than adding to dense populations in big cities,” New Zealand Herald quoted New Zealand Indian Central Association president Harshadbhai Patel as saying on Monday.

2) Immigration NZ moves to shut down visa scam website
Court orders have shut down a website believed to be used to sell fake New Zealand travel visas. A judge at the High Court in Wellington issued interim injunctions on Wednesday against an India-based website designer, aimed at taking down the site, which looks like Immigration New Zealand’s. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), on behalf of its Immigration NZ division, applied for the orders against a company believed to be behind the website. It had the same name as Immigration NZ’s, except that a dot in the real one was replaced with a hyphen.

To protect the overseas workers in Australia, especially from the businesses which exploit them in terms of working hours as well as pay, the penalties are essential, in order to protect them, as per the draft report from productivity commission.

The report has recommended that harder penalties are essential, to those who exploit workers and that the Fair work Commision may need more resources to deal with it, part of the consultation process over workplace relations nationwide.

The report says, we find migrants are more vulnerable to exploitation than other employees, and this is especially true for illegally working migrants. These particular migrants either do not hold a valid visa to be in Australia, and have overstayed the term of their visa or are breaching a visa condition by working. Unlike, most other employees, we tend to find, an unlawfully working migrant working, would not complain, thus reducing the most avenue for discovering the exploitation. This may be essential, as more proportional penalties would help in deterring exploitation and also help in further resourcing the Fair work Ombudsman to detect it.

As per the Migration Act for employing these migrants, it acts as a deterrent, the employers might still face the fines or imprisonment, but depending as to how these penalties are applied, an employer may still require to benefit from hiring as well as exploiting the migrant working in breach of their visa conditions. This is largely due to the fact, which an employer presently does not have to pay the difference between what the worker was actually paid and their minimum entitlement under the Fair work Act.

The Commission report states that, it want to ramp up the penalties against the businesses using the illegal workers and they impose a two part penalty on employers. This would mean that business found guilty of using the illegal workers, they would asked to pay a fine for breach of Migration Act, including the fine amount equal to the amount the worker was underpaid while he/she was in employment.

The report says, this would allow the Ombudsman to enhance the information sharing with other departments as well as conduct more investigation and audit.

Commissioner Peter Harris had added that any changes to the workplace relations framework needed to take into consideration the social impact of the report.

Changes to the workplace relations framework have recognized that it is not just about the Economics. There are community norms as well as ethical norms about the way in which nation treats its employee, said Harris.

The report states that overall, despite significant problems and occasional peculiarities, this nation’s work place relations system is not very systemically dysfunctional, but it does call for the Fair work Commission in order to be reformed.

The productivity commission is the Australian Govt, independent research as well as an advisory body on a range of economic, environmental and social issues which affect the welfare of the Australians. Its role, expressed most simply, it is to help governments to make better policies, in the long term of interest of the Australian community, its final report would be sent to the government by the end of November 2015

For Canada immigration, our nation, India tops the list of national’s who apply for Express Entry system, the program announced CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada).

The CIC helps in distinguishing between nation of residence as well as nation of origin. Among the nation of residence, the UAE has ranked ninth, as a nation, where maximum number of applicants has lived at the time of submission of application.

Beginning from January, this year, the federal immigration system of Canada has been streamlined under the single scheme, the Express Entry system.

Eventhough we find the application are still possible with help of provincial programmes, the Express Entry is known as single Entry possibility on the Federal level.

The CIC, the Citizenship and immigration Canada has released a mid-year report, it indicates as to how the applicant do fare according to the new scheme.

The number one nation of origin among the applicants for this particular year was our nation India, as on 6th July 2015. Indian applicants have been accounted for about 20.08% of the files submitted.

In the second position, American, third position, Filipinos, fourth position, Britons, fifth position, Irish and sixth position for Chinese applicants.

The ninth most common country of residence among the applicant is United Arab Emirates.

It is surprising, that the nation topping the list is none other Canada itself.

The CIC has also written that, we find vast majority of the candidates were already working in Canada and they were aware about immigration system of Canada and they were also able to submit the profile much quicker.

The reason as to why, we find higher number of applicants already in Canada because they have arrived in Canada by applying for previous steams which include international student programs. The individuals in order to stay in Canada, these particular applicants now apply for Express Entry system.

Due to higher number of points which are awarded to the applicants having job offer as well as additional Canada experience, these candidates have proven to be very successful.

The CIC has written that, we find almost all candidates have been invited in the first four invitation rounds having job offers which have been supported by LMIA’s .

Among the nation of residence, we find India does come second, then followed by US.

The Express entry acts as an application bank where in we find the potential applicants are ranked as per the points awarded for both personal as well as professional qualifications.

The Canadian Govt as well as provinces and the employers are able to select the applicants who would mostly succeed in Canada

Canada's Express Entry opened on January 2015 with an intention of taking in 1,75,000 in one year.

* Applicants who score 67 points are eligible to apply.
* Applications are in a pool for 12 months and highest scoring CRS applicants will be selected from that pool.
* Those selected will be invited to apply for PR and their case will be processed in less than 6 months.
* Couples get more points due to spouse ability & those with a job offer will score extra points

A few points to note:

CRS scores have been dropping with each draw. Last draw happened on 8th of Aug and 1,402 people were selected.
So far, 17427 invitation are issued and 1,57,573 positions are still open till December 2015.

* The pool is growing by about 1500 profiles per week;
* From the number of applications in the pool, there are a high number of applications with CRS score ranging from 300 - 449, who are awaiting their turn to be invited;
* Indians are amongst the most dominant countries to receive Invitations (ITAs);
* A majority of candidates selected in the sixth (March 27), eight (April 17) and eleventh (June 27) draws had neither a qualifying job offer nor a provincial nomination certificate

Based on this data, one is optimistic that future draws may select profiles with low CRS scores too and issue increased number of invites for Canada to meet its annual immigration targets.

We encourage Canada aspirants to attempt creating their profile into Express Entry pool as immediately. Reduced Pricing, Easy Installments Low Risk, Low Investment.
