New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (NDDLSA) organized a visit for 12 NALSA Law Interns at Patiala House Courts, New Delhi, on 12.08.2026 as part of their internship Programme. The visit was facilitated by Ms. Nandita Mishra, Legal Aid Counsel (LAC), who assisted the interns in understanding the functioning of the concerned institution.

During the visit, the interns visited the DM Office, New Delhi District, Jamnagar House, New Delhi, & Tilak Marg, Police Station, New Delhi and were apprised of its functioning and various services. The visit provided the interns with practical exposure to the working of government institutions and helped them understand their functioning and role in public service delivery.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (NDDLSA) organized a visit for 12 NALSA Law Interns at Patiala House Courts, New Delhi, on 11.08.2026 as part of their internship Programme. During the visit, the interns visited the Remand Courts of New Delhi and were apprised of the functioning of the DLSA and the role of Legal Services Institutions in facilitating access to justice.

The interns also undertook a Courts/Complex Visit, including the Family Courts, Mediation Centre, VWDC, Civil & Criminal Courts and Lock-up, to gain practical insight into the functioning of various judicial and legal services institutions. The visit provided the interns with an opportunity to understand the practical working of the justice delivery system and the role of DLSA in providing legal assistance to persons in need.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (ND-DLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), organized an Awareness Session on the topic “JJ Act / POCSO Act” under the JAGRITI Scheme on 06.08.2026 at 03:00 PM at the Observation Home for Boys, Delhi Gate, New Delhi.

The session was conducted by Ms. Komal, Legal Aid Counsel, ND-DLSA, who sensitized the children regarding the key provisions and objectives of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. The participants were apprised about the rights and protections available to children, the child-friendly approach under the applicable legal framework, the importance of legal assistance, and the mechanisms available for addressing situations involving children in conflict with law or requiring care and protection.

Special emphasis was laid on ensuring that children are treated with dignity, sensitivity and care throughout legal and judicial processes. The participants were also made aware of the availability of free legal services through the Legal Services Authorities and were informed about the NALSA Helpline No. 15100 (24×7) and DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24×7) for seeking legal assistance.

Approximately 15–20 children/inmates participated in the awareness session. The programme included an interactive discussion wherein the participants were encouraged to raise their queries and seek clarification regarding their legal rights and available support services. The session concluded with the objective of enhancing legal awareness among children and strengthening their access to child-friendly legal services and protection mechanisms.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (ND-DLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), organized a Door-to-Door Legal Awareness Campaign on 05.08.2026, from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on the topics “Child Friendly Legal Services to Children” and “Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness” at Kishan Garh, New Delhi.

During the door-to-door outreach, the PLVs sensitized local residents about child-friendly legal services, protection of children’s rights, available legal safeguards, and the importance of providing a safe and supportive environment for children. The residents were also made aware of the legal rights and entitlements of persons with mental illness, including their right to dignity, equality, legal representation and access to free legal aid.

The campaign witnessed active community participation, with approximately 100–120 persons being reached and sensitized. The PLVs interacted directly with the residents, addressed their basic legal queries, and apprised them about the availability of free legal services through the Legal Services Authorities.

The participants were also informed about the NALSA Helpline No. 15100 (24×7) and DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24×7) for seeking free legal assistance. The campaign aimed to strengthen grassroots-level legal awareness, promote access to justice, and ensure that vulnerable sections of society are aware of and able to avail themselves of available legal services and protections.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (NDDLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), organized a Legal Awareness Programme on “Child Friendly Legal Services to Children” on 04.08.2026 from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kishan Garh. A Door-to-Door Legal Awareness Programme was also conducted at Kishan Garh as part of the outreach activity.

The Programme focused on creating awareness among the participants regarding child-friendly access to justice, protection of children's rights and available legal safeguards. The participants were also sensitized about the role of Legal Services Institutions in providing timely and accessible legal assistance and creating a safe and supportive environment for children.

Approximately 80-100 participants actively participated in the Programme. An interactive discussion was held, wherein the participants raised queries relating to children's rights and legal protection, which were appropriately addressed by the resource persons.

The participants were also informed about the NALSA Helpline No. 15100 (24x7) and DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24x7) for availing free legal assistance. The Programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, with the objective of strengthening legal awareness and promoting child-friendly access to justice.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (ND-DLSA), under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, organized an Awareness and Capacity Building Session under the JAGRITI (Justice Awareness for Grassroots Information and Transparency Initiative) Scheme, 2025 on 20.07.2026 at Jail No. 4, Tihar Jail, New Delhi. The session was conducted on the topic “UTRC Awareness and Identification of Eligible Prisoners for Jail Officials and Jail PLVs.”

The session was conducted by Ms. Komal, Legal Aid Counsel, who sensitized the participants about the objectives and functioning of the Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC), the eligibility criteria for undertrial prisoners, and the procedure for identifying eligible inmates. She also highlighted the importance of timely legal assistance and the role of Jail Officials and Jail PLVs in facilitating access to justice for eligible prisoners.

Approximately 10 participants attended the programme and actively participated in the interactive session. The participants were also informed about the NALSA Helpline No. 15100 (24×7) and the DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24×7) for legal assistance and support. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, during which the participants’ queries were addressed and they were encouraged to actively identify eligible inmates and facilitate the provision of free legal aid in deserving cases.

New Delhi District Legal Services Authority (ND-DLSA), under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, successfully organized a Legal Awareness Session on the topic “Salient Features of the POCSO Act” on 18.07.2026 at Vidya Niketan Public School, Nanakpura, Moti Bagh, New Delhi.

The session was conducted by Komal, Legal Aid Counsel, who sensitized the students about the key provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, with special emphasis on child safety, recognizing inappropriate behaviour, reporting mechanisms, and the legal protection available to children. Students were encouraged to speak up against abuse and seek timely assistance from trusted adults and authorities.

Approximately 50–60 students participated in the programme and actively interacted during the awareness session. The participants were also informed about the NALSA Helpline No. 15100 (24×7) and DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24×7) for legal assistance and support. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, helping the students gain a better understanding of their rights and the safeguards available under the POCSO Act.
