“Why do you need Sunday off?” — a question that challenges comfort and complacency in the legal profession.

Justice Aravind Kumar reminds young lawyers that success in law is not built on convenience, but on commitment, discipline, and relentless effort.

The legal field demands more than just knowledge—it requires dedication beyond fixed hours and a willingness to go the extra mile when it matters most.
In a profession where every case can shape lives, justice cannot wait for comfort.

Growth comes to those who are ready to prioritize purpose over routine and excellence over ease.

In a significant and progressive development in Indian criminal jurisprudence, particularly in the domain of electronic evidence and corruption-related prosecutions, the Rajasthan High Court has delivered a landmark judgment that reinforces the constitutional mandate of a fair trial.

The Court has categorically held that where the prosecution seeks to rely upon electronic evidence—such as audio or video recordings—it is under a legal obligation to furnish to the accused not merely a copy of such evidence, but a certified clone copy accompanied by its hash value.

Allahabad High Court Ruling on Live-in Relationships
The Allahabad High Court has clarified that a married individual cannot legally enter into a live-in relationship with a third person without first obtaining a valid divorce from their spouse.

The Court observed that although live-in relationships are increasingly being recognized in modern society, such arrangements cannot be permitted to violate the sanctity of an existing lawful marriage.

It was emphasized that:
Marriage creates legal rights and obligations between spouses.

Entering into a live-in relationship during the subsistence of marriage may amount to a breach of these obligations.

Social acceptance of live-in relationships does not override statutory marital laws.
The ruling reinforces that legal dissolution of marriage is a prerequisite before entering into another relationship of this nature.

Landmark Judgment on Passive Euthanasia
In a significant development in constitutional jurisprudence, the Hon’ble Supreme Court today delivered a landmark judgment permitting passive euthanasia in the Harish Rana case.
A Bench comprising Justice J.B. Pardiwala and Justice P.S. Vishwanathan considered the case of Harish Rana, who had been in a vegetative state for nearly 13 years. After reviewing the findings of the medical board, which confirmed that his condition was irreversible, the Court permitted passive euthanasia, recognizing the principle of “death with dignity.”
In a deeply reflective moment during the proceedings, the Bench invoked Shakespeare’s famous words — “To be, or not to be.” The Court also acknowledged the extraordinary courage of Harish Rana’s parents, who took the agonizing decision to allow their son to depart peacefully after years of medical suffering.
