ED has issued a Circular for the guidance of the field formations that no summons shall be issued to any Advocate in violation of Section 132 of the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. Further if any summons needs to be issued under the exceptions carved out in proviso to section 132 of the BSA, 2023, the same shall be issued only with the prior approval of the Director, ED.

Labour Court Cannot Grant Monetary Relief Without Pre-existing Entitlement: Bombay HC Clarifies Scope Of Recovery Under Section 33C(2), Industrial Disputes Act

A Single Judge Bench of Justice R.I. Chagla ruled that claims under Section 33C(2) of the Industrial Disputes Act must be supported by clear entitlements arising from statute, contract, or custom. The court clarified that a “cease and desist” direction in an order declaring a transfer illegal does not automatically create monetary entitlements. Furthermore, it ruled that Section 33C(2) proceedings cannot be used to establish new rights not determined previously.

The Government of NCT of Delhi has provided clarification on building construction regulations in the city. In Circular No. PPS/ACS(UD)/2025/201, dated 1st March, 2025, issued by the Urban Development Department, it has been explicitly stated that police permission is not required for undertaking construction activities.
