Medicine Pricing & Consumer Rights | Supreme Court Update ⚖️
The Supreme Court has recently raised important questions regarding the significant difference between the Price to Retailer (PTR) and Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of medicines.
During the hearing, the Court questioned whether a uniform retailer margin of 16% should be considered across medicines. However, it is important to clarify that no new uniform 16% cap has been imposed by the Supreme Court at this stage.
This discussion highlights an important issue concerning medicine pricing, transparency, consumer protection and access to essential medicines.
In this video, we explain the issue in simple language and discuss what consumers should know about MRP, PTR and medicine pricing regulations.
