Vidhi Sahayak Vidhi Sahayak is an organisation which aims at providing free legal assistance to the people in need.

It connects lawyers to potential litigants, who can then help them claim their relief through court, which might be subject to minimal costs. *The organisation is only involved connecting the potential litigant with the lawyer. During this process, the identities of lawyers and litigants will be kept confidential and all the processes would be in strict adherence to the rules of the Bar Council of India.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Vidhi Sahayak is here with a campaign!

Swipe through to look at the Different Laws on Domestic Violence in India.

These points highlight some important laws that can help a perpetrator get persecuted. These are not perfect and require amendments but they are still important and their significance cannot be felt more in the current atmosphere. With the graphs for domestic violence cases rising, it is crucial that we seek and offer help. Fight back, if you can. If not, seek help and get out. It's a long but sure walk to a better future.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Vidhi Sahayak is here with a campaign!

The police are duty-bound to register an F.I.R. even if it doesn’t fall within their territorial jurisdiction. After recording an F.I.R., the police authorities may transfer it to the police station under the proper jurisdiction. However, if they fail to do so, one can approach the court having jurisdiction over the particular police station where the F.I.R. has been recorded.

What qualifies as Domestic Violence?

Section- 3 of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 says that what comprises Domestic Violence is as follows: -

(a) Threats to Life, Health & Safety etc., whether Physical or Mental, incorporating Sexual Abuse, Physical Abuse, Verbal and Emotional Abuse and Economic Abuse, or
(b) Harassment through any forms such as injuries, harms to the aggrieved person by coercing her or any other person related to any unlawful demand for dowry or other property or valuable security; or
(c) Otherwise injuring or causing harm, through Mental or Physical means to the Aggrieved Person.
